The Individuals We Support
We primarily support people diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or depression. Those at Academy House range in age from the early twenties to those exceeding 65 years. Some choose to stay briefly for one to two years while building abilities in symptom control and autonomous living, whereas others prefer a prolonged residence at Academy House. All residents are compassionate, insightful, and original individuals with significant potential for additional advancement and successes.
The Services We Provide
Academy House delivers round-the-clock staff oversight and assistance, along with medication oversight and balanced communal meals. Offered activities include Dance Movement Therapy, yoga sessions, gardening, artistic pursuits, Music Therapy, culinary and nutritional education, documentary discussions, dance and music lessons, talks on current affairs, and mindfulness groups. Numerous sessions at Academy House integrate stress reduction methods based on mindfulness. Residents are encouraged to propose new activities or groups of interest. Our team collaborates with each person to craft a tailored action plan aimed at achieving personal objectives and fostering effective coping strategies.

Featuring constant supervision year-round, space for up to 18 residents, medication support, therapeutic sessions and events, and dedicated skilled staff, Academy House offers a stable long-term residence.
