Enhanced Outpatient Treatment Programs

PBHS's Intensive Outpatient Programs provide group therapy in a nurturing, affirming, and secure atmosphere. We offer six groups: one for Adult Mental Health, meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in either daytime or evening formats to suit various routines. There's also a program for Adult Dual Diagnosis, designed for individuals facing both addiction and mental health issues. Our MBSR group targets those with chronic pain, illness, stress, or anxiety, incorporating mindfulness and meditation practices. Additionally, we have two groups for teens aged 13-17: one centered on addiction and relapse avoidance, and another for those dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, and unhelpful thoughts. Each group convenes three times weekly, typically spanning 24 sessions. With open enrollment, you can join anytime without delay. Our team receives DBT training from Dr. Afsarifard, who learned directly from Dr. Marsha Linehan, the originator of this therapy. Our insurance specialists will review your policy details and coverage, sparing you the need to contact insurers directly.

Neuropsychological Evaluation Services

A neuropsychological evaluation is ideal when a provider seeks to better understand symptoms related to cognitive or brain function. It may be suitable if you or a family member notice signs of cognitive decline or suspect an attention disorder. This service examines brain performance in depth. You'll collaborate with our certified Neuropsychologist, who will aid you and your providers by evaluating cognitive strengths, suggesting treatment options, and aiding in diagnoses as needed. Dr. Ryan Mekota focuses on neuropsychological care for teens, adults, and seniors. People with potential neurological, medical, or psychiatric conditions are referred to Dr. Mekota for thorough cognitive and psychological reviews. He excels in assessing and planning treatments for issues like dementia, memory problems, attention difficulties, head injuries, vascular changes, and progressive disorders. As the sole neuropsychologist in Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties, Dr. Mekota provides evaluations Tuesday through Saturday to fit diverse schedules.
