Options for Adults: Inpatient and Outpatient Services

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute's programs for adults provide a protected, stable, and healing setting for individuals aged 18 and above dealing with acute mental health concerns. Our care team offers round-the-clock observation, intervention, and stabilization for those experiencing conditions such as: Depressive disorders, Manic-depressive illness, Psychotic states or Schizophrenia, Worry-related issues, Addiction problems accompanied by mental symptoms, and Withdrawal management. Adult inpatient services are intended to quickly restore stability and enhance overall functioning. The care group includes psychiatrists, general practitioners, licensed nurses, case coordinators/social workers, nutritionists, and activity specialists. Treatment involves sessions for groups and families, medication oversight, and various activities like recreational and creative therapies, including Motivational Enhancement Therapy. Case management professionals handle discharge planning and coordinate ongoing community support. Our adult outpatient services cater to those not needing constant supervision. The Intensive Outpatient Program delivers therapeutic aid three days weekly, allowing patients to continue healing in their home and community environments. GBHI provides a standard psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a Substance Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program (CD-IOP).

Youth Inpatient and Outpatient Services

These services are tailored to assist teenagers (ages 12-17) and their families in recognizing psychological challenges and leveraging their natural strengths to modify behaviors and thinking patterns toward positive development. Our Intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization options are for teens who do not need full-time monitoring. GBHI's outpatient services suit adolescents who have gained some stability but still require in-depth care. Transportation is available.
