Mission

Over the past 98 years, The Menninger Clinic has served as a pioneer in delivering precise evaluations and exceptional care for individuals facing intense and multifaceted mental health disorders, addiction issues, and associated challenges. U.S. News & World Report has consistently ranked Menninger among the top psychiatric facilities in the country for three decades. Our nursing team has achieved three successive Pathways to Excellence awards, marking us as the first standalone psychiatric hospital to do so. We provide thorough outpatient and inpatient evaluations for people of all ages, along with specialized hospital initiatives and ongoing transitional and outpatient support. Through these highly regarded evaluation methods, adults in our care have reported enhancements in their mental health symptoms during treatment at Menninger, with these improvements persisting through the first year post-discharge. Our approach includes evidence-supported therapies and genetic analysis for tailored medication plans. Many of our patients have struggled to achieve their goals from prior hospital stays and various providers, often dealing with profound depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, personality disorders, substance dependencies, self-injury, or suicidal ideation. Core Principles

Our team of experts and support staff prioritize enhancing the patient's overall well-being across medical, psychological, and social aspects. Our clinician-led groups, headed by psychiatrists, engage each individual as a key collaborator. Together, they pinpoint and tackle the fundamental concerns through detailed evaluations and a tailored blend of group, family, and one-on-one sessions. Creating a secure, introspective, and nurturing atmosphere is essential for reaching objectives. Many of our programs leverage the benefits of interactions among peers as well as the therapeutic bond between patient and provider. Every program weaves in treatment for substance use and addictive behaviors, along with proven methods like DBT, CBT, ACT, and mentalization-based therapy (MBT). Ongoing evaluations of treatment results enable patients and teams to track advancements and refine care as needed. Personalized elements include individual guidance, support for eating disorders, genetic evaluations, spiritual counseling, physical fitness and nutrition advice, and family involvement. Our intensive daily program, along with in-home and outpatient options, assists patients in continuing to manage symptoms, stress, and relationships for greater independence.
