Why the counts can differ: “Lawyer biography matches” means the lawyer search found relevant lawyer-level biography evidence. “Lawyer-specific practice support” is stricter: the queried normalized practice must also be supported under the Lawyer Evidence Contract. A lawyer may therefore appear as a biography match without yet qualifying as contract-supported for that exact practice.
Evidence inspection shortlist

This is a decision aid, not a quality ranking. It surfaces 3–5 firms and lawyers from the current result set where the indexed evidence is easiest to inspect: firm-site support, lawyer-specific practice support, direct attribution, source depth and profile availability.

No reputation, outcomes, popularity, payment or professional-quality score is used.
How the shortlist is formed:
stronger current evidence states are surfaced first; existing firm-search and lawyer-search positions are used only
as tie-breakers. A mapped lawyer is never treated as practice-qualified without separate lawyer-specific evidence.
