These terms govern use of Canadian Law Directory, including its search, directory, AI Legal Match and website-evidence features.
By using Canadian Law Directory, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the website or its tools.
Canadian Law Directory is an information and discovery platform. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, does not represent users and does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and any listed lawyer or law firm.
A listing, search result, AI Legal Match result, evidence score, readiness score, answerability result, profile position or other visibility signal is not a recommendation, endorsement or assessment of professional competence, reputation, ethics, client satisfaction, legal skill or likely outcome.
The platform may retrieve, organize and summarize information from indexed public law-firm website evidence. Automated extraction, retrieval and generation can be incomplete or incorrect. AI-generated text should be treated as an aid to inspecting source evidence, not as an authoritative statement of law or fact.
Users are responsible for verifying lawyer identity, licensing status, current firm affiliation, practice information, office details, availability and other important facts directly with the lawyer, law firm and applicable provincial or territorial law society.
Do not rely on Canadian Law Directory to calculate limitation periods, filing deadlines, appeal periods, court dates or other legal deadlines. The directory is not an emergency service. If a matter is urgent or time-sensitive, contact an appropriate lawyer, court, tribunal, law society, legal-aid service or emergency service directly.
Inclusion in the directory does not imply that a lawyer or law firm has reviewed, approved, sponsored or paid for its listing. Free corrections are separate from optional enhanced services. Where a commercial relationship exists, it should not change the platform's obligation to distinguish supported evidence from unsupported claims.
Lawyers, firms and other users may submit corrections or additional information for review where a submission process is available. Submission does not guarantee publication or verification. We may request supporting information, reject unsupported changes or maintain a distinction between submitted information and independently indexed public evidence.
Submitting an audit request does not create a legal, consulting or other professional-services relationship. Audit outputs evaluate website evidence and answerability within the defined methodology. They do not measure legal quality, market standing, SEO performance, client conversion, professional competence or likely business results.
You may use the website for lawful information and research purposes. You may not attempt to bypass security controls, interfere with service operation, submit malicious code, impersonate another person, use the site for unlawful harassment, or misuse forms or automated endpoints.
Large-scale automated scraping, systematic extraction, resale or republication of directory content may be restricted where it interferes with service operation, circumvents access controls or reproduces protected platform content. Public source information remains subject to the rights and terms applicable to the original sources.
Canadian Law Directory's original interface, software, branding, organization, reports, explanatory text and platform-generated presentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, law-firm content and source material remain the property of their respective owners.
The platform links to external law-firm websites, regulators and other resources. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their availability, content, security or privacy practices.
The website and its features may change, be corrected, temporarily unavailable or be discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that all indexed information will remain current.
The website and its information are provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Canadian Law Directory and its operator disclaim warranties that the directory is complete, error-free, current or suitable for a particular legal decision.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Canadian Law Directory and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, consequential or special losses arising from reliance on directory information, AI-generated output, external links, service interruptions or a user's decision to contact or not contact a particular legal professional.
Use of personal information submitted through the website is described in the Privacy Policy.
These Terms may be updated as the platform changes. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
